Summary
troveloapp.com is the website of Trovelo, a travel-planning app. Its pages don't set cookies or save anything in your browser's storage, and the website has no analytics, advertising, tracking pixels or social-media plugins. That's why there's no cookie banner to accept.
Like every website, it has to be delivered by a server: this one is hosted by GitHub, which records your IP address when you visit. This page explains that, the few other things worth knowing, and your rights under the EU/EEA General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR.
This page covers the website only. The Trovelo app has its own privacy policy.
1. Who is responsible (Data Controller)
This website is run by:
Eduardo Pinillos (independent developer, Portugal)
Contact: nocion.exento_8u@icloud.com
We decide what the website contains and where it's hosted. GitHub keeps its own records of visits for its own security purposes, under its own privacy statement (Section 2).
2. Hosting: what GitHub receives
This website is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc. (United States). When you open a page, your browser connects to GitHub's servers, which receive what any web server receives to deliver a page: your IP address, the address of the page, the date and time, and the technical details your browser sends with every request (such as its type and language).
GitHub states that when a GitHub Pages site is visited, the visitor's IP address is logged and stored for security purposes. Those records stay with GitHub, under its Privacy Statement: GitHub Pages doesn't give website owners access to them.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in publishing this website and keeping it available and secure (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
International transfers: GitHub may process this data in the United States. GitHub states that it is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and that it generally relies on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses; its Privacy Statement has the details.
3. Cookies and your browser's storage
This website doesn't set cookies, and its pages don't save anything in your browser's storage (such as local storage). It has no analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, or social-media buttons and plugins. The animations on the home page run entirely in your browser.
As with any website, your browser may keep copies of pages, fonts and images in its cache so they load faster next time. Your browser does that by itself, and you can clear it in its settings.
If this ever changes, we'll update this page first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before anything is stored.
4. Content from other services
The fonts, images, scripts and App Store badges on this website are served from troveloapp.com itself. Its pages don't embed videos, maps, fonts or other content from other companies' servers.
App Store banner in Safari. Some pages include Apple's Smart App Banner tag. On iPhone and iPad, Safari may show a banner at the top of the page to get Trovelo from the App Store, or to open it if you have it. To show it, Safari may get Trovelo's details from Apple; this is handled by Safari and Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. It's a Safari feature, and other browsers usually ignore the tag.
5. Links to other websites
This website links to other sites, such as the App Store, the Mac App Store, Reddit and Pinillos Lab, and to sources and credits. Those sites are only contacted when you click a link to them. Your browser then opens that site, may tell it that you came from troveloapp.com, and from there its own privacy policy applies.
6. If you contact us
If you email nocion.exento_8u@icloud.com, we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach. That address is an iCloud Mail account, so your email is delivered and stored by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. If you message us on Reddit, Reddit handles that message under its own privacy policy.
We use your message and address only to reply and to follow up on what you asked, and we delete them on request. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR and the UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. To use them, write to the address below; we answer within 30 days, and we honor these requests from visitors anywhere.
- Records of your visits are kept by GitHub (Section 2), so requests about them are best sent to GitHub, which can act on them directly.
- Emails you sent us we can find, give you a copy of, or delete ourselves.
- Complaints: you can lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority: the one in the EU country where you live or work (see edpb.europa.eu), or the CNPD in Portugal, where we're based. In the UK, the ICO.
8. Changes to this page
